My daughter and I made an impromptu pizza tour stop, she wanted to celebrate her first week of finals.

We ordered a small round cheese and pepperoni and two 20oz pips for $10.36.

The pizza was hot and cooked to what I would have asked had we not have some strange rules when eating on a pizza tour. Nice and crispy. One of those rules is cooked the way the restaurant makes it.

I'm not a fan of crust, a total waste of space. Think of all the extra cheese and toppings we lose out on. I did however eat the crust because it was good.

The first time I left a review was after I tried Carlo's for the first time ordering the Chicago style stuffed pizza. I wanted to leave an updated review to share that I've now added Carlo's into my regular rotation of pizza places.

When choosing where to order pizza, I love when restaurants have deals that combines pizza with bread and/or salads. This Carlo's location has an excellent "Meal Deal" that is reasonably priced. It includes a large pizza with two toppings (usually places only allow one topping with their deals), a large salad and parmesano sticks.

I usually order a square pizza with an Antipasto salad. I always customize my Antipasto to exclude tomatoes and green olives, and to have ranch dressing instead of Italian. They are really good about accommodating my request. There has never been an issue or an error. What I love about their salads is that they give plenty of meats, cheeses and veggies. A huge complaint I have about other pizza places is that the bulk of their salads is basic lettuce with barely anything else. I've never had this issue at Carlo's, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Of course, their pizza is also excellent!

They have a terrific sauce that they use on their pizzas and there's always just enough cheese and toppings. They will also 'flavorize' the crust for free, upon request. I also have to mention that I LOVE their parmesano sticks. They are always loaded with the proper amount of cheese and are cooked perfectly. Not to mention any names (Jets on 17/Garfield--whoopsie!) but another place always seems to burn the bread.

If you've come to this Yelp page to try and decide if Carlo's is worth your while--trust me, it is.

Carlos pizza is our favorite pizza place. We usually order once a week. Very nice family people. Great pizza & subs. My wife and I won't order from anywhere else. The crust is delicious and the toppings are fresh and very good quality. We've been loyal customers for 5 yrs now and will continue to be for many years to come. Can't say enough good things abouy Carlos Pizza

First of all their pizza has always been A plus. But their Ribs are outstanding. A half slab (6 ribs) with fries ( which are crinkle steak fries), coleslaw (standard. Reminds me of KFC) and Carlos bread is only 12.99. They fall off the bone. And whom ever is making the brownies they sell for a dollar a piece ... best brownies I have ever had.

I was a very loyal customer to Carlos Pizza (now on Grosebeck) for many years.  We just moved to Sterling Heights so I was excited that we had a Carlos Pizza near us that would deliver, at 18 mile and Hayes.  I had a dozen people at my house for the move so I ordered 3 large 1 topping pizzas and 2 small cheese breads.  It cost me almost $50 which is on the high side for that amount of food, but i figured if it is as good as the other location then price is no big deal.  I asked for garlic-butter parm on the crusts and they did not give me that.  Also, the toppings were very sad as some pieces had only 2-3 small pepperonis.  Many people mentioned that the amount of sauce on the pizza was ridiculous and I agreed as well. Not sure who made our pizza's, but I hope it was someone new.  Not sure if I would go back after my first experience was not good.  For me personally I was just hoping it was close to being as good as the other location.  I was let down big time!
